Tilac takes home the 2019/20 End of Season Tournament trophy
The 2019/20 BISL season is complete! Tilac takes home another End of Season Tournament Championship and brings Goldie back to longtime BISL friend and sponsor Khun Sam Tilac.
With a new format, this year's EoS Tournament saw a Best of 3 Championship Series with Tilac facing off against LongTable. Tilac advanced to the Championship series having won both their games on Saturday while LT battled back from the loser's bracket by taking out Bootleggers and league Champs BKK Suns on Sunday morning.
Both these teams faced off against each other in a wild Round 1 game which saw Tilac pull it out 15-11 after being down 3-11 heading into the 7th inning. So it was no surprise that the Championship series went 3 games.
Game 1 saw both teams battle and it was the great defensive plays by the Tilac OF and INF along with timely hits which secured the win.
Game 2 LongTable jumped out early with a lead and never looked back. Backed by effective pitching and good defense, LT took Game 2 by mercy rule 18-6. Game 3 LongTable came out swinging and jumped out 4-0 only to see Tilac bite back to take a 5-4 lead eventually extending it to 9-6 heading into the 7th. LT got it to 8-9 with runners on 1st & 2nd bases but couldn't get the tying run across. Tilac took the EoS Championship winning Game 3 with a score of 9-8.
The End of Season Tournament MVP went to Mark Matula. A well earned recipient after playing spectacular defense in RF and getting key hits all series.
Congrats to Mark and Tilac!
